The major cities of Australia have a Christmas windows tradition. In Sydney, this is done by David Jones at their Market Street store. In Melbourne, the Christmas windows display are shown at the Myer Bourke Street store.
This year fans of the Myer Christmas Windows have two bites of the cherry so to speak. The first, you can go to the Bourke Street Store to see "Alice in Wonderland". If that is not enough, head to the Melbourne Museum to see all your favourite characters on display. You will see some familiar faces from yesteryears. And then, there are those you have not seen before.
Entry to the above exhibition is part of the entry fee of $15 to the Melbourne Museum. It is located upstairs on the right and is close to Phar Lap. Most the characters are placed close to each other and are not in a windows display as you would expect. Then, there are the occasional colourful lights display that could make them a bit dark. Are we in a disco comes to mind? So, if you are going to take photos, take this into consideration. You may have to time your photos with the changing of the lights.
